There is a common misconception that if you bend you are going to break. Far too many people think that bending is a sign of weakness or defeat. They think that they will be perceived as a lesser human being if they adapt or slow down. Success, in this life, is an extremely relative term. To you, success is defined as something, but to me, it is defined as something else. Success is ultimately achieving happiness and happiness is not only dependent on our financial status.
Most of us have a plan for our lives and goals set for what’s to come. However, though these things are good to have, there are far too many variables that can throw our plans off and change our goals completely. If we cement ourselves into one set path, surely we will be setting ourselves up for great disappointment and pain. The truth is, to be truly successful, we need to be truly flexible.
Sometimes, along the way, we will need to bend so that we can fit into the success we are meant to have. It’s not a sign of weakness, it’s a sign that you are confident and strong enough to change your mind, change your perspective, and change your path a little. There are many different ways to get to where you want to go. Don’t be the person who takes the long and difficult way, just because they are too stubborn to shift gears!
